Who We Are
PRI is an employee-owned, full-service reinsurance intermediary and program broker. We place all lines of Property and Casualty Insurance, including Workers Compensation, Life and Accident & Health products.  PRI has special expertise assisting managing general agents and insurance companies to develop specialty insurance program business.
We trade with highly rated domestic insurance carriers as well as with Lloyds, European Union, Bermudian and other financially sound non-U.S. markets. In addition to our Columbia, South Carolina Home Office, Preferred has marketing offices in New York, New Jersey, Illinois and Florida.
Since we are exclusively employee-owned, we have a personal stake in our company’s operation and results. This total independence allows us to focus exclusively on our clients.
When you work with us, you will partner directly with key employees and company principals. We never delegate clients to a “junior team.” As an independent, we have the luxury of being able to treat each opportunity according to its own merits. Every client is important to us.
History
Preferred was established in May of 1983. Robert H. Sanders, the founder and president of Preferred previously worked with the Seibels, Bruce Group for 17 years. Several of Bob's co-workers at Siebels joined him at PRI where they continue to work today. Read more ...
